Godward Thoughts
"Remember that it is not hasty reading, but serious meditation on holy and heavenly truths, that makes them prove sweet and profitable to the soul. It is not the mere touching of the flower by the bee that gathers honey, but her abiding for a time on the flower that draws out the sweet. It is not he that reads most, but he that meditates most, that will prove to be the choicest, sweetest, wisest and strongest Christian." (Thomas Brooks)

The 91st Psalm comes to mind here and how dwelling under the Shadow of the AlMighty is protection against all that may seem to bring us harm.
May the Lord keep you and your home safe, Doug, and may we all pray for each other for we are all one family.
Doug,
I've been praying. My parents actually just bought a house in Yorba Linda, my mom works in Brea . . . I guess the fires were surrounding their development on all sides, but didn't make it into their particular area. Thankfully, the worst of it is over.
On a side note, I saw your neighbors' orange tree . . . man, I miss the homeland ;-) (here in the NW, we're starting to get down into the freezing temps, and of course, rain).
Thanks for sharing this, I'll continue to pray for those who lost homes.
In Christ
