Comfort for Struggling Christians (4)

-Charles Spurgeon-
"Remember that it is not hasty reading, but serious meditation on holy and heavenly truths, that makes them prove sweet and profitable to the soul. It is not the mere touching of the flower by the bee that gathers honey, but her abiding for a time on the flower that draws out the sweet. It is not he that reads most, but he that meditates most, that will prove to be the choicest, sweetest, wisest and strongest Christian." (Thomas Brooks)

My heart leapt! How comforting is that quote!
For the one who started a good work in us will also complete it. How reasuring to know that Jesus will lose not one for no one can snatch them out of the Fathers hands.
Good words, Doug. As believers, we definitely need to be more encouraging to our brothers and sisters when they struggle.
A good word spoken in a timely manner can be very effective.
God is not willing that any should perish. . .
Spurgeon is really good. Have you ever read any of his morning and evening devotionals?

Jazzy,
That is my favorite devotional. That is what got me started on him, and I haven't stopped since.

Thanks for posting that, Doug. My husband, John loves "Morning and Evening." I read it sometimes too.
